The abrasive (solid) part of the product (crushed plant seeds, salt, sugar, purified sand, coffee grounds, etc.) is intended for scraping off dead skin cells, dirt, cosmetic residues and sebaceous secretions. The softening base (gel, cream, etc.) is designed to protect the skin from microtraumas, and at the same time moisturize it.

For the face, a scrub in the form of a cream or gel is most often used, and a scrub soap is also produced for the body. In the process of using treasures (the cleansing procedure with a scab is called scrubbing), a layer of dead skin cells is gently removed and the pores are cleansed: the skin becomes soft and smooth, and as a result of a light massage action, its blood circulation improves. The effect of the procedure is noticeable after the first use.

What is your skin type?

You need to know this in order to determine which product is right for you. Depending on what skin type you have, you need:

  • choose the right product for daily washing,
  • make an appropriate scrub to combat pimples, blackheads and other rashes.

Dry and sensitive skin

This type of skin requires careful treatment, and therefore the scrub in this case should be extremely soft - not traumatic, but at the same time cleansing the skin. In this case, the scrubbing procedure can be carried out no more than 2 times a month.

Oily and combination skin

This type of skin is much stronger than dry skin and can therefore withstand stronger impacts, which means that when selecting the abrasive part of the scrub, you can use harder ingredients. The scrubbing procedure can be performed every week.

Why do acne appear?

Before you start preparing a facial scrub for blackheads, you need to understand the causes of inflammation. The appearance of blackheads does not depend on age and gender, and the causes of inflammation of the skin are of the following nature:

  • improper care of the skin of the face. As for girls, this reason is considered the most common, and here's why. Not all girls, after applying decorative cosmetics in the morning, remove makeup in the evenings. If the skin, tired of cosmetics and the influence of the external environment, is not treated with special products in the evening, and the makeup remains not removed, then the result is obvious. The pores become clogged, the sebaceous glands stop working normally and blackheads appear,
  • uncontrolled consumption of too fatty, sweet foods. The concept of unhealthy diet also includes frequent consumption of fast food, canned foods,
  • stomach problems,
  • disruptions in the hormonal system.

If any inflammation appears on the face, you must make an appointment with a dermatologist. After making a diagnosis, the doctor will prescribe treatment. In some cases, drug treatment is successfully combined with home treatments.

Let's get down to business - make a scrub

Preparing a scrub at home is not at all difficult; besides, you will need simple ingredients for it; they can be found either in the kitchen or in the nearest store. Another advantage of homemade scrubs is that they not only cleanse, but also nourish or disinfect the skin (depending on what you add to their composition).

The simplest (one might even say primitive) scrubs can be prepared from raspberries (its small seeds will serve as the abrasive part of the cleanser) or from apricots (here the seeds will have to be thoroughly ground in a coffee grinder), while adding a little sugar, soda or lemon juice to the composition - for clarification and disinfection.

A cleanser for the skin of the body or face can be made from almost any product - the flight of imagination is unlimited, but there is still one formula for its preparation:

(soft base + hard particles) x love for your skin = excellent scrub for acne.

So, we begin to “conjure” a potion that will return the skin to its former purity and beauty.

Let us remember that a scrub is a product containing abrasive particles (for example, oatmeal, finely ground berry or fruit seeds, sugar, salt or silicone balls). Therefore, first you need to choose an abrasive component, one of those suggested below (they are of different hardness and, in addition to cleansing pores, have different effects on the skin):

  • Salt - produces a strong antibacterial and exfoliating effect.
  • Sugar - softens the skin and increases its elasticity.
  • Baking soda improves skin color and has antibacterial properties.
  • Honey - moisturizes, rejuvenates the skin, has an anti-inflammatory effect.
  • Oatmeal - removes dirt and bacteria, softens and moisturizes.
  • Ground coffee - relieves fatigue, renews, tones, regulates blood supply to skin cells.
  • Peels (zest) of orange (citrus) - increases skin elasticity, stimulates collagen growth and rejuvenates the face.
  • Rice - delicately cleanses, smoothes wrinkles, moisturizes.
  • Chocolate chips - soothes, nourishes, smoothes and rejuvenates the skin.
  • Crushed seeds gently exfoliate, restore skin color, nourish and moisturize it.
  • Almonds - stimulates collagen growth, nourishes and moisturizes.
  • Cosmetic clay - tightens pores, smoothes the surface, increases blood supply to skin cells.

The next step is to choose the base for the future scrub. Various nutritional, moisturizing or softening additives can be used as a basis, for example:

  • cream,
  • oil,
  • boiled or distilled water.

Now you can create your own scrub, but if you have never done this before, you can use the recipes below to get started.

How to choose

Before purchasing, carefully study the composition.

The effectiveness is evidenced by the presence in the product of such components as salicylic acid, activated carbon, natural clay, healing mud, herbal and plant extracts.

It is better that these substances are not listed at the end of the composition - this means that they are contained in low concentrations. The first five positions of the composition are the most effective, the first ten deserve close attention.

It is very important what the scrubbing particles are made of.

and what size they are. As an example, let's compare Russian and French scrubs.

In these products, the active ingredient is the same - crushed apricot kernels, they are quite coarsely ground, while in Yves Rocher they are crushed to the finest powder.

Judging by the reviews on the Internet, the first product is more suitable for scrubbing the feet (which it does successfully), but for the face it turned out to be too rough. The second product delicately cleanses the skin of the face.

For dry and sensitive skin

Moisturizing Fruity:

  • semolina - 10 g (heaped tsp),
  • banana and apple pulp - 10 g each,
  • liquid honey - 5 ml (tsp),
  • whipped cream - 7 ml.

  • oatmeal - 20 ml,
  • honey - 5 ml,
  • milk - 1 tsp.

Add honey and milk to the warm porridge and stir. Apply to face, massage for 3 minutes, hold for 5 minutes and rinse with warm water.

Nutritious with oatmeal:

  • ground oatmeal - 3 g (slightly less than a tsp),
  • grapes - 6 berries.

Crush grape berries, mix with ground rolled oatmeal flakes, scrub for 3 minutes, hold on face for another 10 minutes, rinse with warm water.

For oily and combination skin

Sugar nutritional:

  • cane sugar - 25 g,
  • milk - 1 tbsp.

Dilute sugar (but do not dissolve completely!) in milk, massage your face with the scrub for 4 minutes, leave the mask for 7 minutes, rinse with warm water.

Yeast (for very enlarged pores):

  • bran - 2 tsp,
  • natural lemon juice - 1-1.5 tsp,
  • dry yeast - 3 g (slightly less than a tsp).

Whitening Lemon:

  • sea salt - 1 tsp,
  • fresh lemon juice - 1 tsp. (5 ml).

A few more scrub recipes for both skin types

From oatmeal

Take instant oatmeal, add water and let it brew (swell slightly), then add milk or kefir (can be replaced with mashed or finely grated cucumber). Mix, apply to face and massage in circular movements.

Leave on your face as a mask for another 10-15 minutes, rinse with warm water.

This scrub has a beneficial effect on dry skin, does not harm sensitive skin, and nourishes oily skin.

Coffee

Do not throw away the grounds from the brewed coffee - they will be useful for making this scrub.

The thicket can be used on its own, or it can be mixed with the same amount of cottage cheese or 10 drops of cedar oil per ½ tsp. coffee grounds.

Apply the mixture to your face and use circular movements, without pressing, massage the skin for 5 minutes, leave for another 5 minutes as a mask and rinse with cool water. Such a scrub can become an “ambulance” for the skin.

Salt sea

You will need sea salt (it will have a strong anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect) and some skill. First, mix salt with sour cream or foamed baby soap.

Gently but confidently apply the mixture to your face and massage the skin in circular motions for 1-2 minutes.

If you have dry and sensitive skin, rinse immediately with water at room temperature; if it is oily, then the mixture can be kept for a few more minutes, but not longer, since the salt quite quickly eats into the skin along with dirt, fat and sweat and dissolves the upper layer of the dermis.

After the procedure, be sure to smear your face with a cream suitable for your skin type - this is necessary for recovery.

Scrubbing rules

It is necessary to treat the surface of the skin against acne with smooth movements (excluding the eye area), especially trying to work on problem areas. Follow these simple rules:

  1. Before the procedure, clean and steam your face
  2. Treat problem areas harder
  3. Massage the skin with smooth circular movements
  4. Remove scrub residue with contrasting water
  5. Finally, apply a nourishing cream to the epidermis.

If you have open, purulent pimples, closely located blood vessels, infectious skin diseases - hold off on scrubs and treat your face first.

By following our advice and carrying out the procedures correctly, you will soon enjoy clean, smooth and healthy skin!

Beauty to you!
