The tablet form of Panthenol is a remedy used as a supplement to the main treatment for inflammatory diseases of the throat (laryngitis, tracheitis, etc.) and the oral cavity (stomatitis) and conditions after surgery to remove the tonsils.
The drug is prescribed for vitamin B5 deficiency when it is impossible to compensate for it with diet (for example, patients who are on chronic dialysis).
It is also effective for nutritional melalgia (Gopalan syndrome), which is manifested by excruciating burning pain in the feet, acrocyanosis and paresthesia of the legs.
The injection form of the drug is used for the prevention and treatment of postoperative paralytic obstruction and intestinal atony, as well as to compensate for pantothenic acid deficiency (pain in the feet and toes, numbness and tingling in the lower extremities).

- Dexpanthenol cream or ointment should be used once a day. The medication is applied to the affected skin area, avoiding healthy skin. As a compress, apply to the painful area, spreading Dexpanthenol cream or ointment on a cotton pad.
- Gel for adults and children can be used 2-3 times a day. The duration of therapy depends on the type and course of the disease, for example, for osteochondrosis - 7-21 days.
- The spray is used intranasally. For adults and children over 6 years old, spray into the nostril 1-2 times into each sinus. If necessary, the procedure is repeated 2-3 times a day.
- Dexpanthenol is prescribed as a suppository only in the presence of pathologies in the field of gynecology, vaginally. One candle a day is enough.
- Tablets are taken orally, adults are advised to take 1-2 pieces 4 times a day, children over 3 years old - 1 tablet 1-2 times a day.
- Dexpanthenol in the form of an injection solution is injected under the skin, into a vein, into muscles, the maximum dose is 500 milligrams per day.

Summing up
To be honest, I am between these drugs, as well as other analogues of Panthenol: D-panthenol, Panthenol EVO, etc. based on pantothenic acid, I don’t see much difference. I usually apply Panthenol spray immediately after laser or chemical peeling to speed up the skin restoration process after aggressive anti-aging procedures.
A cream with dexpanthenol helps better remove inflammation in problem skin and treat acne. It could be “Bepanten” or “Depanthenol”. For severe peeling, it is advisable to use ointment - it has excellent softening properties and increases the protective functions of the skin.
If we compare “Bepanten” or “Panthenol” - which is better for facial rejuvenation, as I am often asked, then I would recommend using these products not as independent products, but after hardware or injection procedures. Then their effect will be much stronger. According to some patients, in this way it is actually possible to visually take off several years.

Side effects
