Top 5 mattifying face products for the summer: do you have them?

Popular brands that produce cleansing gels

The effectiveness of care depends on the combination of cleansing particles with oils, medicinal herbs and other components. Gels are divided into groups:

  • Pharmacy cosmetics. Brands Vichy, La Roche-Posay or Avene are tested in laboratories and do not cause unwanted reactions. The gels do not contain fragrances and additionally treat the skin.
  • Products used by professional cosmetologists (Holy Land, Clarins). Reviews of a well-known brand's cleansing gel are almost always positive.
  • The mass market contains both domestic and foreign products. Products of different quality at high and low prices.

In each segment you can choose the right product.

How is the “ground glass” symptom detected in a person’s lungs?

The term “ground glass” is often found in the vocabulary of specialists performing computed tomography. This diagnostic method is used to study the condition of human internal organs. Computed tomography is based on CT, the processing of x-ray radiation, which is characterized by varying degrees of manifestation when passing through tissues of different structure and condition.

It is with the help of this method that one can objectively detect the presence of “ground glass” foci in a person’s lungs. This is what doctors call areas of lung tissue that are subject to pathological changes at the level of the alveoli.

Reference. The alveolus is a kind of bubble located in the respiratory - respiratory parts of the lungs. They are directly involved in the respiratory function. The main task of the alveoli is to carry out gas exchange between the human body and the external environment.

When exposed to pathogens (harmful substances) on the lung tissue, the alveoli can shrink and collapse. Or their air conductivity deteriorates. Such changes in the alveoli are indicated on a CT image as blurred areas. At the same time, the general pattern of the bronchi and blood vessels is quite visible.

This effect in the picture is called “frosted glass”. This symptom is detected quite often, and not only during the course of serious diseases.

In what diseases are foci of “ground glass” detected in the lungs?

From the extensive practice of pulmonologists, CT images can quite often detect clouded areas in the lungs. The “ground glass” symptom is not specific to any particular disease or group of similar diseases. Therefore, to determine the causes of its occurrence, doctors collect not only anamnestic data, but also study the general clinical picture and concomitant pathologies.

The frosted glass symptom is often provoked by:

  • bacterial, viral or fungal pathogens. The most obvious example is seasonal flu, which humanity encounters every year;
  • an autoimmune response of the body to some irritant;
  • an allergic reaction to an external irritant.

Studies conducted by Japanese scientists among people who suffered coronavirus infection revealed the “frosted glass” effect on CT images in most of them. Moreover, among the group of subjects there were both patients with pronounced manifestations of COVID-19 disease and those whose infection was asymptomatic.

These results prompted doctors to study in more detail the manifestations of coronavirus infection in humans, as well as to study its further consequences on the human body.

Covid-19 and the frosted glass effect

Doctors note that the most characteristic signs of pneumonia from Covid-19 are multiple opacities on an x-ray (ground glass symptom), thickening of the walls of blood vessels and peripheral distribution of lesions. This symptom, as it turns out, also occurs in those patients who have had coronavirus without any symptoms.

Pathological changes in the lungs were detected in those who had recovered from the COVID-19 coronavirus without symptoms. This was reported by Japanese scientists who studied the results of computed tomography scans of passengers on the Diamond Princess liner in a study on the portal of the Radiological Society of North America.

As it turned out, of the 104 people infected with COVID-19 on the ship, 76 were asymptomatic. Moreover, in the majority of these patients (41 people), changes were found in the lungs - the “frosted glass” effect. Thus, Japanese scientists came to the conclusion that even with asymptomatic COVID-19, the patient’s lungs are harmed.

“Ground glass” is a medical concept that is used to determine changes in lung tissue. This is a secondary symptom that occurs when the partitions between the alveoli harden. By itself, it does not manifest itself in any way and is diagnosed only during an examination of the lungs. The symptom can accompany various pathologies.

Reasons for development

Computed tomography, used to diagnose pulmonary diseases, in some cases reveals an increased density of organ tissue. What signs are typical of this manifestation?

In the picture it looks like this:

  1. The appearance of massive blackout.
  2. The structure of the bronchi and their walls are clearly visualized.
  3. The vascular pattern is preserved.
  4. The transparency of the lung tissue is increased.

The main condition for determining whether the identified signs are pathological is to perform tomography with a very small slice step. In other words, thin slices are needed to obtain the most reliable information. To exclude the physiological genesis of increased transparency of the pulmonary fields, the organ should be examined under conditions of maximum inspiration.

The symptom (sign) of ground glass, developing in both lungs, accompanies a large number of pulmonary and extrapulmonary diseases. First of all, these diseases are divided into acute and chronic.

The first group of pathological processes is represented by the following list of diseases:

  • pneumonia caused by viral particles,
  • heart failure in the stage of alveolar pulmonary edema,
  • bleeding from pulmonary vessels,
  • interstitial pneumonia.

These diseases develop quickly and require extremely clear and timely identification of the cause.
Imaging manifestations should be combined with clinical symptoms and data from biochemical and other studies. Chronic conditions can also cause ground-glass opacities in the lungs. These include diseases that are accompanied by pathological changes in the alveolar septa and interstitial tissue.

Quite often, the diagnosis of systemic connective tissue diseases is carried out untimely. It is the diseases of this group that in a third of cases can indicate pulmonary manifestations.

The ground glass symptom is typical of systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, and Sjögren's disease. The range of studies should be supplemented by searching for biochemical markers - antibodies to nuclear and other cellular structures using enzyme immunoassay.

The next group of diseases is associated with damage to the interstitium. These include:

  • sarcoidosis,
  • alveolar proteinosis,
  • fibrosing alveolitis,
  • hypersensitivity pneumonitis.

How to apply matte nail polish?

Applying a velvet effect coating is not difficult. Prepare the necessary tools and materials and begin the process.

  • Prepare your nails by removing cuticles and adjusting the shape. Go over the surface of the nail plate with a buff (grinder) so that it becomes perfectly smooth and even.
  • Degrease the nail surface.
  • Apply the base and dry it in a lamp.
  • Apply the first layer of colored varnish and also dry the coating in a lamp.
  • Repeat the procedure by applying a second layer of colored gel polish and drying it.
  • Apply a matte velvet topcoat to your nails in one layer.

Wait for it to dry and enjoy the beautiful velvety look of your nails!

If there are uneven spots on the nail (for example, it was injured and the surface does not look perfect even after sanding), choose “decor” for it - rhinestones, a pattern with glossy varnish, or glitter decoration.

How is SARS different from coronavirus?

Atypical pneumonia is caused by exposure to microorganisms (mycoplasma, chlamydia, legionella), which are uncharacteristic of pneumonia. It is also called acute respiratory syndrome. The disease initially manifests itself as intoxication:

  • nausea;
  • increased sweating;
  • weakness;
  • rapid heartbeat.

The patient is not always bothered by a cough. High temperatures can persist for a long time. Another feature of atypical pneumonia is an increase in the number of leukocytes per unit volume of blood, which can be determined by taking a test.

With atypical pneumonia of the lungs, darkening is visible on the x-ray:

  • small focal - no more than 3 mm;
  • medium focal - no more than 7 mm;
  • large-focal - no more than 12 mm;
  • focal lengths – more than 12 mm.

Atypical pneumonia on x-ray:

COVID-19 differs from SARS in that it is accompanied primarily by pulmonary manifestations. The symptoms of both diseases may be the same - fever, runny nose and sore throat.

Atypical pneumonia can be treated with Tetracycline, Ciprofloxacin or macrolides. But these remedies are not effective for COVID-19.

Reviews

Christina: Cream from Clean Line is a real find! It is absolutely inexpensive, but the effect it produces is simply amazing! I haven’t finished the first tube yet, but I’ve already bought the second!

Lisa: Matte perfection is not perfection at all to me. Although the cream is used very sparingly (no more than a third of the jar per month), there is practically no effect on my skin, only light hydration. I won't buy it again.

Tonya: Baikal creams are my favorites! The natural composition is a huge plus; you can immediately feel that the effect is different from other store-bought creams. The consistency is very pleasant and the aroma is delicious. And the matting agent copes with its functions perfectly!

What is “frosted glass in the lungs”?

The “ground glass” symptom is a manifestation of processes in the lungs that cause a decrease in the density of lung tissue. Essentially, this is an area of moderately reduced airiness of the lung tissue. The key sign of this condition is the visibility of the pulmonary vessels and bronchial walls.

This symptom is determined using an X-ray or CT scan of the chest. Measurements are taken at the height of a sigh. Only a doctor can correctly decipher the image data and make a diagnosis.

Loose powder

Loose (you can also take compact) powder will provide complete matte coverage of the face. It is better to choose a transparent one so as not to make a mistake with the shade. It should be applied with a fluffy large brush. A good powder is suitable for any skin type.

Try the new compact powder from the Stellary brand. The silky texture fits perfectly on the skin and blends well. The powder creates a flawless matte finish and prevents oily shine.
