Oily skin causes a lot of trouble, because a person is constantly faced with the problem of blackheads and acne, which appear in fairly large quantities on the forehead, nose and chin. Various masks, peeling, and mechanical facial cleansing help get rid of such an unaesthetic “decoration” on the face. However, all of the listed methods and procedures do not give the desired effect if the pores are not opened before using them.

Why do the pores on the face expand? Causes

It is not always possible to give a definite answer to the question of why this problem arose. Knowing the reasons for their formation in many cases helps to correctly understand how to get rid of enlarged pores on the face.

The most common causes of enlarged pores on the face and body:

  • genetic predisposition;
  • combination and oily skin types;
  • hormonal disorders;
  • metabolic disease;
  • diseases or dysfunction of the digestive system;
  • decreased immunity;
  • excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation, sunburn and dehydration;
  • neglect of the procedure for cleansing the skin of impurities and dead cells or its improper implementation;
  • use of low-quality decorative cosmetics;
  • incorrectly selected skincare and/or decorative cosmetics;
  • unhealthy diet, including foods high in carbohydrates, animal fat, and spices;

How to get rid of enlarged pores on the face: treatment methods.

Before resorting to cosmetic procedures, it is necessary to take measures to eliminate contributing factors - limit the intake of foods high in carbohydrates and animal fats, hot seasonings, and spices.

It is necessary to stop drinking alcoholic beverages, regulate the correct work and rest schedule, normalize the function of the digestive tract, limit exposure to direct sunlight, choose the right quality cosmetics, etc.

In modern cosmetology, there are a number of procedures that can narrow enlarged pores. Among them:

Peelings

Enlarged pores on the face can be eliminated using a chemical peeling procedure, thanks to which all irregularities on its surface are smoothed out, including fine wrinkles, and the facial skin looks renewed. During this procedure, the keratinized layer of cells is removed, which stimulates skin regeneration processes, resulting in increased elasticity.

Based on the mechanism of action, peelings can be divided into 3 groups:

  • Mechanical – exposure to preparations (scrubs, gels, creams) containing granules or microcrystals;
  • Hardware - the effect is carried out with ultrasound or laser, diamond dermabrasion;
  • Chemical - exposure is carried out with acid-based chemicals.

Depending on the depth and intensity of the impact, there are:

  • Exfoliation is the lightest, most superficial, exfoliating type of peeling;
  • Epidermolysis – superficial peeling;
  • Medium peeling;
  • Deep peeling.

Little secrets

Regardless of the cause and method of treatment at home, the skin of the face should always receive proper attention and care. Therefore, I will share with you some small tricks that will help you solve the problem faster:

  • forget about hot water - under its influence, the pores expand even more, so wash your face with warm or even cool water; if you like a bath or sauna, use a tonic and a tightening mask after the procedures;
  • do not carry out procedures one after another - let each product act and penetrate the skin;
  • To apply makeup, use light foundations with reflective particles; they will visually even out the skin and give it a healthy glow.

Ultrasonic peeling (or ultrasonic facial cleansing)

The essence of the procedure is to remove a layer of dead cells under the influence of high-frequency ultrasonic waves. Ultrasound is one of the most modern and painless ways to cleanse the skin of the face, neck, back, and décolleté.

Under the influence of ultrasound, a contact gel applied to the skin causes the breakdown of molecular bonds and exfoliation of epidermal cells. After ultrasonic facial peeling, pores are cleaned and reduced, fine wrinkles disappear, and skin color and texture are evened out.

The required type of peeling is selected by the doctor depending on the individual characteristics and severity of the problem.

Laser facial peeling is a modern and effective procedure for laser skin cleansing and rejuvenation.

As a rule, laser is used when alternative methods (creams, masks, hardware and chemical peels) do not bring the desired effect.

Laser skin cleansing is recommended for use after 30 years, when the skin has already experienced age-related changes.

Our clinic presents “cold” and “hot” FT laser peeling techniques, which are distinguished by their thermal effect on the skin. With “hot” peeling, cleansing occurs using a hot laser, heating the top layer and stimulating rejuvenation processes. If with hot radiation the result is observed gradually, then “cold” radiation gives an instant effect. The smoothness and beauty of the skin will be noticeable immediately after the first session.

Microdermabrasion , which tightens pores, eliminates fine wrinkles and cleanses the skin of dead skin cells. When performing microdermabrasion, a special scrub with the addition of solid microparticles is used. This procedure, provided that it is carried out by a professional cosmetologist, stimulates collagen production. A course of two to three procedures is considered optimal.

In addition to cleansing procedures, it is recommended to use techniques that help moisturize, nourish the skin and narrow pores, therefore the treatment of enlarged pores on the face is combined with injection techniques:

  • Plasmolifting;
  • Mesotherapy;
  • Biorevitalization;
  • Bioreparation.

Methods and means of skin care, treatment methods, frequency and number of procedures are selected by cosmetologists individually, depending on the severity of the process.

You can reduce pores with folk remedies

Homemade homemade cosmetics have a natural composition. Components of plant origin are used in the production. These recipes have helped many generations of women reduce enlarged pores.

Masks

Used for deep cleansing of the skin and sebum regulation. Frequency of application depends on skin type:

  • oily and combination – 2-3 times a week;
  • normal - up to 2 times a week;
  • dry and fading, mature - 1 time per week;
  • sensitive - once every 1-2 weeks.

It is worth considering that clay-based masks dry out the skin, so you will need to thoroughly moisturize. Such products may not be suitable for dry and sensitive skin.

Recipes for effective masks for porous skin:

  • Detoxifying.

Cleanses pores, absorbs sebum, relieves inflammation. Crush 2 tablets of activated carbon and add to 2 tbsp. l. black clay. Prepare a decoction of calendula or chamomile, cool and dilute the dry mixture to a mushy state.

Apply to skin or T-zone (forehead, nose, chin). Leave for 15-20 minutes. Do not use on dry or sensitive skin.

  • Refreshing.

Cleanses and tightens pores, brightens, tones and has a cooling effect. Take 2 tbsp. l. white clay, enrich with 2 drops of lemon, lime and peppermint essential oil. Dilute with water. Apply to skin and wait 10-20 minutes.

  • Scrub mask.

Deeply cleanses pores, fights acne, exfoliates, starts blood circulation, improves complexion. Do not use if you are allergic to bee products. Take 2 tbsp. l. honey, 2 tsp. sugar, preferably cane sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon. Stir until smooth. Moisten a clean towel with hot chamomile infusion and steam your face for 5-10 minutes. Apply a scrub mask, massage and leave for 5-10 minutes.

How to deal with the problem with tonics and lotions

The most popular products for skin with enlarged pores are deservedly considered tonics based on chamomile and calendula. Easy to prepare at home:

  1. Pour fresh water into the Turk and add 5 tbsp. l. chamomile or calendula flowers.
  2. Boil.
  3. Strain, cool and put in the refrigerator.
  4. Wipe face, neck, décolleté morning and evening. There are no restrictions on the duration of use.
  5. Store in the refrigerator for no longer than 5 days.

However, there is another medicinal plant that helps not only narrow pores, but also overcome blackheads. Oregano improves the condition of problem skin and cleanses well. Preparing lotion does not require much effort:

  1. Add 2 tbsp. l. oregano in 100 ml of boiling water.
  2. Leave for 1 hour.
  3. Strain and put in the refrigerator.
  4. Wipe your face morning and evening. Can also be used for daily washing.
  5. Store for no more than 5 days.

Homemade tonics and lotions have no contraindications other than individual intolerance.

Scrubs

They have high cleansing and exfoliating properties, but require caution.

It is not recommended to use during periods of exacerbation of acne and with increased skin sensitivity. Abrasive particles can increase inflammation and cause irritation. It is recommended to use no more than once a week.

After use, be sure to apply soothing and moisturizing products.

Some popular recipes:

  • Absorbent.

Crush 5 tablets of activated carbon. You should get a fine-grained powder. Add 2 tbsp. l. kefir Apply to skin and massage for 1-2 minutes.

  • Polishing.

Dilute 1 tbsp. l. soda with water until it reaches a mushy consistency. Apply, massage and leave for 5 minutes as a mask.

  • Solyanoy.

Doing peeling: how to hide a blemish on your face?

The best option is oatmeal peeling. Suitable for all skin types, including aging, mature and acne during acute periods.

It has a delicate action. Exfoliates, cleanses, removes toxins.

Grind 10 tbsp. l. oatmeal. For one application you will need 1 tbsp. l. crushed flakes and 1-2 tbsp. l. warm kefir. For oily skin, 1% kefir is suitable; for dry skin, you will need a more oily one. The mask is applied with massaging movements. After the massage, leave on for 15-20 minutes as a mask. Use 2-3 times a week.

For a deeper exfoliating effect, you can additionally add 1 tbsp. l. ground coffee. In this case, use no more than once a week. Avoid if your skin is sensitive.

Look at what inexpensive products available in every home that work well to tighten pores.
