Scrub and face masks made from sea and table salt

A simple and effective means of caring for mature skin can be ordinary table salt, which is present in your kitchen. Cosmetic recipes based on it smooth out fine wrinkles, cleanse pores of impurities, restoring freshness and healthy tone. Salt masks saturate the epidermis with mineral compounds and increase elasticity.

Table salt contains sodium, slightly skin-whitening chlorine, a small amount of calcium, copper, magnesium, and selenium. When used as a mask, it perfectly removes excess liquid and exfoliates dying cells of the upper layer of the epidermis. With regular use, you can rejuvenate your face, tighten your oval shape, and prepare for an important event without the help of a cosmetologist.

Beneficial properties of a salt mask

Salt masks are suitable for any skin type. With the help of salt, first of all, cleansing masks are made that help get rid of impurities in the pores of the skin - remove sebaceous plugs and blackheads from them. The chemical composition of salt, as a rule, includes many different elements, each of which, in their overall interaction, provides a “general cleaning” of the skin, after which a feeling of cleanliness and freshness remains:

  • iodine, phosphorus, sulfur, bromine, chlorine - cleanse, tone, strengthen the natural immunity of the skin; for her they have a calming and restorative effect;
  • magnesium, sodium, iron - remove toxic substances and promote rapid skin regeneration;
  • various minerals that make up the salt strengthen and participate in the metabolism of the skin.

Small crystals of salt, like tiny needles or hooks, are able to remove impurities from rather hard-to-reach places of the epidermis. By adhering tightly to skin “garbage”, they remove it from the pores, and then, when washed off, are removed along with it.

Salt face masks help:

  • fight pimples, acne and blackheads;
  • control sebum secretion;
  • tighten pores;
  • reduce peeling and irritation on the skin;
  • refresh your complexion;
  • rejuvenate the skin.

With such a wide range of actions, homemade salt masks are in no way inferior to expensive salon procedures, but at the same time significantly save money.

Features of the product

The mask contains two simple natural ingredients, which can be obtained without any difficulty in their pure form, without resorting to various processing methods. What's the secret?

Honey is the result of the hard work of hardworking bees. Regardless of the method of application: ingestion or application to areas of the body, this bee product will have a positive effect. Antiseptic and antimicrobial properties of the product, saturation with microelements and vitamins are a small part of the characteristics that have a noticeable effect on the human body.

Salt is the absolute opposite in terms of taste, structure, and external qualities. However, the product is no less useful: penetrating the skin, the crystals help relieve inflammation and cleanse skin pores.

Basic rules for using salt masks

To get the maximum effect from using salt masks and at the same time avoid some mistakes in their use, you must adhere to certain rules:

  1. Remember that salt is a rather aggressive substance that corrodes tissue. Its sharp crystals can damage the integrity of the skin, so do not take coarse salt, which can injure the skin. You can grind large crystals using a blender, mortar or rolling pin (by rolling it over salt sprinkled on a hard, flat surface).
  2. Applying olive oil before starting the procedure will protect the skin from the negative effects of salt crystals, but will reduce its effectiveness.
  3. For salt masks, you can use regular table (rock, kitchen) salt, but it is still better to use sea salt (or even better, Dead Sea salt). At the same time, do not take products intended for bathing - they add fragrances, dyes and various additives. You should not use fine, iodized salt for cosmetic procedures.
  4. The recipe must be chosen in accordance with your skin type and/or existing cosmetic defect that you want to get rid of.
  5. Before using salt masks, read the section on contraindications for their use.
  6. If you are making a mask for the first time, test for an allergic reaction before applying it to your face. To do this, apply the prepared composition to the skin of the wrist (the inner side of the elbow or behind the ear) for 10-15 minutes. Wash off the tester. If within 30 minutes there is no itching, burning, rash or redness at the application site, then the selected recipe can be safely used on the face. If undesirable reactions occur, then you will have to abandon the mask you have chosen and look for another care product or choose a different recipe option.
  7. The finished mixture is applied to a previously moistened and prepared face (before the procedure, you need to remove dirt, remnants of makeup and cosmetics). For a better effect, you can steam your face by placing a hot wet towel on it or holding it over steam from a decoction of herbs.
  8. The mask can be applied not to the entire face, but locally - to problem areas or to individual pimples.
  9. Longer doesn't mean better. Do not overexpose the compositions on your face. The duration of the session should not exceed 15 minutes (except in cases where the time is specified separately).
  10. After the end of the session, you must thoroughly rinse off the mask (first with warm and then with cold water), trying to remove the smallest grains of the product. The procedure is completed by applying an antiseptic or nourishing (moisturizing) cream.

Description

Sunflower seeds are used to obtain oil. The beautiful, bright yellow flowers of this plant are very familiar to everyone, and the oil from this raw material can be bought in any store.

There are several varieties of the product. The refined product is in greatest demand; its production uses multi-level purification, due to which residues of pesticides and heavy metals are removed from the oil. But with such cleaning, not only harmful, but almost all beneficial substances are removed from the oil. Therefore, both the nutritional and cosmetic value of the refined product is low.

When producing an unrefined product, only one purification method is used - mechanical filtration. Therefore, all beneficial substances are completely preserved in the product. This oil has a pronounced aroma and a peculiar tart taste, which not everyone likes. But this particular type of oil is beneficial both for the body as a whole and for the skin of the face.

Unrefined oil is produced in two ways. The most natural product is obtained by cold pressing. This oil has a dark tint, a pronounced aroma, and there may be sediment at the bottom of the bottle. The main disadvantage of this oil option is its short shelf life. The product does not tolerate exposure to sunlight well, so it is advisable to store it in dark glass bottles.

Unrefined oil is obtained from sunflower seeds and by hot pressing. This oil contains less vitamins, but it has a longer shelf life. The oil differs in color, it has a light yellow tint, a pronounced characteristic smell and taste, the presence of sediment at the bottom of the dish is acceptable.

The composition of the unrefined product is rich and varied. The main components of oil are fatty acids. The oil contains the following types of acids in large quantities:

  • palmitic,
  • stearic,
  • oleic,
  • peanut,
  • linoleic,
  • linolenic

These substances actively nourish cells, help retain moisture, smooth and heal the epidermis.

Sunflower seed oil contains vitamins in large quantities. Thus, in terms of the content of the “vitamin of youth” - tocopherol, this product is even ahead of olive oil.

In addition, unrefined sunflower seed oil contains B vitamins, carotenoids and lecithin. The product contains a lot of valuable elements, including selenium, calcium, iron, zinc. Each of these components is important for maintaining healthy skin, and together they help eliminate many cosmetic problems.

What is it used for?

To achieve healthy skin, you need to overcome certain problems associated with unpleasant manifestations:

  • greasy shine;
  • faded skin color;
  • redness;
  • acne;
  • wrinkles;
  • dryness.

Honey in the mask acts as an antioxidant, while salt is an excellent scrub that has a disinfecting effect.

The components of the product are able to penetrate deep enough and cleanse the pores of accumulated oil and impurities.

Contraindications to the use of salt masks

Unfortunately, salt masks have a number of contraindications when their use is not recommended:

  • * sensitive, thin, dry and delicate skin;
  • * high blood pressure;
  • * presence of open wounds and inflammations on the face;
  • * presence of closely spaced capillaries (rosacea);
  • * oncological diseases;
  • * pregnancy.

Following the above recommendations for using salt masks will help you enjoy the purity and beauty of your skin.

Be healthy! Be beautiful!

How often should I apply the mask and scrub?

The optimal frequency of using products with honey and salt is once a week. This is due to the fact that a natural scrub can injure the skin, and frequent use of honey will lead to an allergic reaction.

Use a scrub, for example, at the beginning of the week, and a mask in the middle. It is this alternation that will help put your face in order in the shortest possible time.

The use of honey and salt is a delightful play of contrasts. One component irritates the skin, the other softens it, and the result is well-groomed skin. The product is suitable for women and men of any age.

Natural remedies always help better than those created artificially. Nature has given us everything we need for health and beauty, we just need to use these gifts correctly!
