The current environment and the stressful lifestyle of modern people often lead to various diseases, the cause of which is often stress. For example, a severe stressful situation and reduced immunity can provoke the active reproduction of parasitic life forms that are constantly present in the body of every person - worms, ticks and others. One such disease is demodicosis, caused by mites. It constantly lives in the sebaceous glands of the eyelids. This mite manifests itself as hyperemia of the eyelids and eyes, purulent discharge from the conjunctiva, itching and pain in the eyes. Features of the product's action
The therapeutic effectiveness of Demodex Stop is due to the pharmacological properties of its active ingredients. Upon contact with a microscopic mite, metronidazole is integrated into the DNA chain, disrupting replication. Adults lose their ability to reproduce and die. At the same time, the destruction of eggs laid deep in the tissues of the lower and upper eyelids occurs. The drug is also characterized by other therapeutic effects:
- relief of acute, subacute and chronic inflammatory processes;
- reduction in the severity of pain, itching, burning;
- moisturizing the mucous membrane of the eye, stopping lacrimation;
- preventing the spread of eyelash mites to healthy tissue;
- prevention of the development of bacterial, viral or fungal secondary infection.
In the process of using the drug in the structures of the eyeball and eyelids, blood circulation improves. They begin to receive enough nutrients for regeneration. This leads to rapid restoration of tissues damaged when the mite is activated.
Contraindications
The only limitation to the use of this cosmetic series is individual intolerance to the components included in the gel or balm. Therefore, before using the product, carefully read its composition and make sure that you are not allergic to it. The easiest way to determine allergic reactions is a simple smear on the inside of the arm. If after 5-10 minutes you do not have any allergy symptoms, you can confidently try the product.
Demodex facial mite structure, localization on the body
When studying organisms of the genus Demodex, two forms of mites were identified that parasitize the skin and have pathogenic significance for humans:
- Demodex folliculorum longus – capable of parasitism, accompanies the development of complex facial manifestations of acne and rosacea
- Demodex folliculorum brevis – does not show symptoms of parasitism
They have similar morphofunctional characteristics, but they differ in location. These are very small, microscopic organisms that are invisible to the naked eye.
Demodex f. longus - often called the acne gland, hair - is characterized by a translucent long worm-like body, which is 2 times longer than the cephalothorax, the rear end of the body is rounded. Individuals of both sexes are equal in length, it is 0.2 - 0.5 mm. There are 8 segmented tarsi on the anterior section. The legs are short, have 5 segments, at the ends of which there are 11-12 marigolds.
In females, the oval genital opening is located behind the fourth pair of legs. The body of arthropods is covered with a chitinous membrane. The location is the hair follicles.
Demodex f. Brevis is a fatty gland, the body is short, the posterior end has a cone-shaped rounding, the cephalothorax is also short, flattened. The size of males is smaller than females: 0.16-0.17 and 0.12-0.14 mm, respectively. The abdomen of the tick is covered with a dense cuticle. After mating, the males die; their bodies decompose in the sebaceous glands. Location of the sebaceous glands.
Localization of demodex on the body
Both species are found mainly on the face, near the eyebrows and eyelashes, near the nose, ears, and less often on the scalp and neck. Based on the location of the rash on the body, there are 4 types:
- central type - T-zone of the face with the highest density of sebaceous glands
- medial type - frontal tubercles, chin and central part of the cheeks are affected
- asymmetrical type - rashes are expressed on one side of the face
- lateral type - rashes are recorded on the sides of the face
If the rashes are evenly distributed throughout the entire skin of the face, we can speak of a total type of localization.

Anna, 34 years old, discovered demodicosis quite by accident - at an appointment with an eye doctor. Since childhood, she suffered from poor eyesight; recently she noticed pain and attacks of itching in her eyes, but she attributed everything to increased stress on the organs of vision during work. It turned out that a tick had settled in the centuries. The doctor recommended washing with Stop Demodex soap and using shampoo from the same series for prevention. Within a couple of weeks I felt an improvement - the discomfort stopped bothering me. And after some time the redness went away. Now I go to the doctor for a medical examination once every six months - it is better to prevent the disease than to suffer from it later. Oleg, 42 years old Red spots appeared on his face. I hesitated for a long time, but still went to the dermatologist. It turned out that I have demodicosis. The doctor recommended pharmaceutical ointments, but they did not produce results. I decided to go to another doctor. He advised me to use Stop Demodex lotion and gel. Within a month, the disease practically disappeared. I will continue to use it until complete recovery.
Special instructions and precautions
Destruction of eyelash mites requires an integrated approach to treatment, the use of drugs with various pharmacological properties. Stop Demodex combines well with other local and external agents. There were no cases of negative drug interactions in clinical practice. But doctors recommend maintaining a 20-30 minute interval between using Demodex Stops and eye drops or ointments.
In the presence of severe diseases of the liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract, the combined remedy should be used with caution. Therapy for such patients is carried out under the supervision of a physician.
If after a week of using the drug the condition does not improve, the severity of symptoms does not decrease, then you should inform your doctor about this. He will clarify the diagnosis and adjust the therapeutic regimen. If necessary, the doctor will prescribe the patient a drug with other active ingredients.
Additional Information
It is important not to forget that before treatment, consultation with a specialist is necessary. A dermatologist should conduct a visual examination and refer the patient for additional diagnostics. To carry it out, a small sample of dead skin is taken to study the remains of mites. This way the doctor will know what the cause of the skin disease is. If the cause of damage to the epidermis is demodicosis, treatment should be discussed with a doctor. The use of medicinal products must be combined with other therapeutic measures - maintaining personal hygiene, a healthy lifestyle, taking vitamins, proper nutrition. The official manufacturer – Ukraine – supplies the complex to many pharmacies, where any sick person can purchase medicine. After treatment, consult your doctor about preventive measures.
What is demodicosis and how to recognize it
Demodectic mange is an infection of smooth skin and hair by microscopic mites. Clinically, the pathology is manifested by a rash, acne, ulcers, severe itching, and increased secretion of sebaceous secretions. But demodectic blepharitis is especially dangerous - mite parasitism on the upper and lower eyelashes.
The disease is characterized by the occurrence of a whole complex of symptoms:
- excessive uncontrolled lacrimation;
- itching, burning, swelling and redness of the eyelids;
- dryness of the mucous membranes of the eyeballs;
- the formation of scales on the eyelids, which when peeled off cause bleeding;
- accumulation of purulent mucous secretion in the corners of the eyes.
Demodectic blepharitis causes not only physical, but also psychological discomfort. Without treatment, eyelashes begin to fall out profusely. The natural protection of the eye structures disappears, so pathogenic fungi, bacteria and viruses easily penetrate them. They begin to grow and multiply rapidly. During their life, microorganisms and eyelash mites release harmful substances into the surrounding space. In children and weakened patients, their penetration into the systemic bloodstream can lead to general intoxication of the body, including an increase in body temperature.
If the patient does not seek medical help, then as the pathology progresses, infectious conjunctivitis occurs more and more often. This causes severe visual disturbances.
Analogs
There is no complete similar line in Russia. However, you can find separate analogues of Stop Demodex products. The domestic industry produces about 30 types of drugs to combat demodicosis, acne and seborrheic dermatitis. The most famous analogues in Russia are Aknestop gel, Bezugrey cream, Effezel gel, Duak, Grape seed oil, Curiosin gel and many others.
The STOP demodex line is an effective remedy in the fight against demodicosis only in uncomplicated cases of the disease. In other cases, additional treatment will be required.
