Homemade soothing masks after cleansing your face

Delicate, thin skin is regularly exposed to various types of influences. Peelings, scrubbing, low-quality care and decorative cosmetics, insomnia, poor lifestyle - immediately affect the face. To enjoy youth and freshness, you need to know how to soothe your skin by periodically arranging relaxation sessions for it. Natural components of homemade compositions restore and renew the epidermis.

Results of action on the surface layer

At home, a woman usually uses a scrub to remove the stratum corneum and pore contaminants. The epidermis is injured, rashes and redness appear. This often happens if the scrub consists of large particles. After a skin renewal procedure (deep peeling) in a beauty salon, more serious irritations are possible.

Special masks contain ingredients that allow you to achieve the following results:

  • Reduce inflammation. This becomes noticeable when redness disappears and acne-like rashes decrease in size.
  • Normalize blood circulation and stimulate metabolic processes. A reduction in the size of the edema is immediately visible.
  • Regenerate the surface layer. Minor scratches heal quickly.
  • Make age spots less noticeable.

Soothing face mask recipes

After a properly selected soothing mask, your cleansed skin will glow and the cosmetic results obtained at home will not be inferior to salon procedures. By the way, if skin cleansing was carried out in a salon, then the cosmetologist will most likely offer to make you a ready-made film mask or recommend purchasing a certain option for carrying out the procedure after a while.

It should be noted that there are quite a lot of recipes for soothing masks made from natural ingredients that you can prepare yourself.

Terms of use

Cleansing procedures will not be a worry if you regularly use soothing face masks for redness at home, following these rules:

  1. The recipe must be agreed with a professional in the field of cosmetology in cases where a woman suffers from an allergic disease. In this case, components that cause allergies when eaten and in contact with the epidermis are excluded from the recipe. A doctor’s consultation regarding the composition of the components is also necessary for those who have cleansed their skin in a beauty salon.
  2. If acne appears after cleansing, an antiseptic must be added to the recipe for the healing mixture. The cosmetologist can also prescribe additional medicine for external use.
  3. To relieve minor irritations, prepare methods from available ingredients.
  4. Test before application.
  5. Sedative for longer than 20 minutes. You cannot hold it - a hard film will form.
  6. Do not apply under the eyes.
  7. Do not perform mask procedures more often than 2 times a week; allergic reactions may develop.
  8. A herbal infusion can serve as a good additional remedy to soothe inflamed skin. Washing with herbal infusions after washing off the main medicinal mass increases the likelihood of obtaining a positive outcome.

Possible causes of inflammation on the face

Of course, first you need to clarify the cause of the pimples. Let's consider these reasons:

1. In modern conditions associated with environmental problems and poor nutrition, the skin of the face urgently needs constant and very careful care : cleansing the face twice a day from bacteria, dust, sweat and sebum, and dead skin particles.

To avoid clogging of pores and subsequent inflammation, you need to regularly care for your skin, in particular, clean it of impurities.

If a woman does not have time to do this, then the sebaceous glands become clogged and plugs appear, which is the cause of acne.

2. A very common reason is adolescence and the period of hormonal maturation of girls. The manifestation of such processes is the overly active growth of the sebaceous glands, which causes the formation of teenage pimples.

Homemade face masks will have an effective anti-inflammatory effect in such a situation.

Another common cause of inflammation is hormonal changes in the body in adolescents.

3. There are individual characteristics of the skin , for example, the sun's rays can cause dry skin in one person, and increased sebum production in another (then it would be optimal to use sunscreen for the face).

4. And finally, the food a person eats has a very important influence on the condition of the skin .

The food we eat often shows up on our skin

Fatty, fried, spicy, sweet foods, and excessive coffee consumption most often cause skin problems and disorders. If you have such problems, you should not drink alcohol at all.

By following the rules of a healthy lifestyle, you can completely avoid the appearance of acne and pimples on the skin or at least reduce their number.

Important advice from the editors!

Recent research into hair care products has revealed a scary figure - 98% of popular shampoos ruin our hair. Check the composition of your shampoo for the presence of sulfates: sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, coco sulfate, PEG, DEA, MEA. These aggressive components destroy the hair structure, deprive the curls of color and elasticity, making them lifeless. But that's not the worst thing!

These chemicals enter the blood through the pores and are distributed to the internal organs, which can cause allergies or even cancer. We strongly recommend that you avoid such shampoos. Use only natural cosmetics. Our editorial experts conducted a series of shampoo analyses, among which they identified the leader - the Mulsan Cosmetic company.

The products comply with all norms and standards of safe cosmetics. Mulsan is the only manufacturer of completely natural cosmetics. We recommend visiting the official website mulsan.ru. We remind you that natural cosmetics should not have a shelf life exceeding one year.

Reviews from women

  • A mask with oatmeal perfectly soothes sensitive skin. I mix it with cream and water. I usually do it before an event when I need to look one hundred percent! To do it as a course - you don’t have enough patience and time, but I think the result will be even better!
  • I make a mask with parsley both for the entire facial skin and for the area around the eyes - it gets rid of bags with a bang! It’s effective in the morning, although I don’t always have time before work, so buy ready-made cream with parsley.
  • I prefer to mix blue clay with potatoes and talcum powder. My skin is constantly peeling, sometimes the area around my nose itches, the wings of my nose are always red. The mask helps to soothe the skin, after which the skin becomes smoother - it is a pleasure to touch it!
  • I constantly use a scrub and realized that after this procedure my skin becomes too sensitive. I decided to alternate and make soothing masks. For dry skin, a honey mask was the ideal solution - I’m happy with the result!

It's not enough to just apply soothing masks from time to time! Remember that the key to beautiful and healthy skin lies in proper nutrition, rest and work schedule, and walks in the fresh air. Wipe your face with ice cubes, wash your face with nourishing infusions of various herbs, then your skin will glow with youth and radiate energy every day!

Why are these masks so important?

Judge for yourself, facial cleansing “opens” the skin, its pores are free, not clogged with impurities, it breathes and can absorb nutrients and moisture without interference! She is ready for you to give her hydration and nutrition.

In addition, all processes taking place in the deep layers of the skin are activated, blood circulation is able to distribute all incoming substances evenly throughout the entire depth of the epidermis. That is, after cleansing, the best time comes for complete skin care and masks will be able to give it everything it needs, since the method of application involves long and pronounced contact of substances with the skin.

A cosmetologist can advise you on how to choose the right homemade masks after cleansing, but if you do it yourself, be sure to take into account what kind of cleaning was done to you and whether there are any deep injuries. Most often, after most types of cleansing, redness and slight swelling remain, and to soothe the skin, apply a drying mask, for example, including yolk and lemon. If the skin peels off after cleansing, then moisturizing and nourishing masks applied alternately will help eliminate the dryness.

The benefits of homemade masks after cleansing

Immediately after any intervention, the skin is very irritated and sensitive. This is especially true for very dry, reactive and aging skin. Without using a properly selected mask, it will be very difficult to remove inflammation, irritation and redness, quickly heal injured tissue, and narrow pores. If you use a nourishing cream immediately after the mask, you can cause severe inflammation and “clog” the pores, especially if the cream is heavy and greasy.

Soothing homemade masks perfectly tighten pores, remove redness and traces of inflammatory processes, refresh and heal the skin.

Basic recipes for homemade masks

To relieve redness and inflammation, masks with chopped parsley based on heavy cream or sour cream are very good. Sour cream has the same effect as when applied to sunburn areas. Sour cream is an excellent folk remedy that helps relieve skin irritation. You can smear your face with pure sour cream or add other ingredients to it, for example, the yolk of a chicken egg, at the same time getting an excellent nourishing and smoothing effect. By adding a teaspoon of honey to sour cream, you can get a moisturizing mask, and adding oatmeal ground into flour will give the mask cleansing and rejuvenating properties.

Masks made from honey and yogurt relieve pain and skin tightness. They narrow pores and restore water-fat balance. Crushed rolled oats mixed with chilled kefir and raw potatoes have the same effect.

It is known that inflammation and redness are well eliminated by massage with a healing ice cube - but if you are uncomfortable with too cold a touch, then use a mask of melon or watermelon, which will wonderfully moisturize the inflamed skin. The most common garden vegetable, cucumber, has a similar effect; you don’t need to combine it with anything, just peel it and grind it in a mortar until a fine paste forms. The effect will be even better if the cucumber mask is slightly cooled.

If after cleansing the pores on your face do not want to shrink, help them with a protein mask - it is applied to the face in a very thin layer until completely dry and perfectly tightens the pores.

A carrot-based vitamin mask can also restore good skin condition after any intervention, especially after cleansing or too much exposure to the sun. For it you need to take fresh red carrots, grate them, mix with ground oatmeal or any flour, starch and be sure to add any good vegetable oil, preferably olive or almond. This is necessary so that the fat-soluble vitamins A and E from carrots can be released and absorbed into the skin. The result of using the mask is clean and velvety fresh skin with a pleasant tanning effect. But you shouldn’t overuse the mask - you can achieve too bright an orange skin tone.

When using a new mask, do not experiment with it all over your face—apply first to an inconspicuous area of facial skin. It is unknown how irritated and inflamed skin will react to the new components in the mask.

Keep the mask on exactly as long as the recipe suggests - overexposure of the product on the skin will not give any additional effect, it is better to make masks more often. The ideal option is 2-3 times a week general action masks, soothing masks after each facial cleansing and if necessary.

An important condition for the effectiveness of any home mask is regular use, the use of only high-quality components and thorough cleansing of the skin before applying the composition.

Various and effective homemade masks after facial cleansing provide us with an excellent opportunity to expand the range of facial care procedures and significantly prolong the effect of cleansing and improve the condition and appearance of the skin.

  • fanned flakes crushed into flour – 20-25 g;
  • kefir or sour milk – 20-25 ml;
  • vegetable oil, preferably olive – 10-12 ml;
  • natural honey – 10-15 g.

All components are mixed, applied to the skin of the face and neck, and kept until the mixture dries completely. To remove the mask, use ordinary running water at room temperature.

Who needs it and when?

Sensitive skin is beautiful - it has some amazing inner glow and charm. But with amazing tenderness and such vulnerable beauty, the thin epidermis is very sensitive. It reacts to everything: ultraviolet radiation, cold air, wind, high humidity and stressful situations. Soothing face masks will help restore such skin.

  • Relieve itching, irritation, etc.
  • Make skin stronger and more protected.
  • Improve the regeneration of epidermal tissues.

All this in the power of soothing care. The best way is to carry out a course of home treatments using natural products. Such sessions are especially indispensable after deep facial cleansing.

Attention!

Before sessions, be sure to ensure that there is no damage to the skin (wounds, abrasions, deep scratches).

A soothing face mask at home is performed a couple of times weekly. It is not worth doing the procedures more often - you can cause a persistent allergy and get the opposite effects.

How to apply it to your face correctly

Before starting the mask application procedure, you should hide your hair so as not to interfere, prepare a thick brush and cotton wool pads.

To apply the mask you will need a brush and cotton pads.

Then you need to decide on the time of day when it is best to apply the mask. At different times of the day, there are several periods of time that may or may not be recommended for applying a mask.

Morning time (8-10) is a period of increased blood circulation and restoration of the human body’s immune defense, therefore it is considered the ideal time for cosmetic procedures.

But the period from 11 to 18 is considered not very favorable - the skin does not accept drugs. Finally, the interval 18-23 pm is a good period for using cleansing procedures by activating the regeneration process of skin cells.

It must be taken into account that there are areas on the face where a mask is never applied - these are the areas around the eyes and lips.

Various face masks, including anti-inflammatory ones, are applied using special tools that must be prepared at home in advance: brushes (for a greasy mask) or wooden spatulas (for a thick mass), sponges (for a creamy mask).

After applying the mask, you need to lie down and relax your facial muscles.

There are rules of conduct during and after a cosmetic procedure:

- when the mask has already been applied, it is better to lie down, close your eyes and try to achieve complete relaxation while listening to pleasant music;

— it is recommended to remove the remnants of the mask with water or warm herbal tincture;

- you don’t need to wipe your face, but let it dry and absorb moisture;

- then, to improve blood circulation and narrow the skin pores, it is recommended to wipe your face with pieces of ice prepared in advance.

Cooking at home

There is nothing more beneficial than the gifts of nature! The recipe for a soothing face mask will consist of natural ingredients. The most effective natural skin relieving products are:

  • fruits;
  • oatmeal.

Fruity tenderness

Fruits, due to their rich composition, create optimal conditions for caring for sensitive epidermis. But not all fruits are suitable for us. The most effective moisturizing and soothing face mask can only be obtained from:

  • Bananas, which will deeply moisturize the epidermis, rejuvenate and nourish the skin with all useful substances.
  • Pears - they improve the complexion, eliminating pigmentation, and nourish the dermis well. Giving her freshness and a healthy, rosy color.
  • Peaches, which can perfectly smooth the skin, tone and heal sensitive skin.
  • Plum with its ability to smooth the skin texture, rid the skin of wrinkles and unevenness.

Since fruits contain acids, a soothing face mask against redness and flaking should act on the skin for no more than a quarter of an hour. Peel the fruit, mash it and apply it to your face, avoiding the eye area. To further soften the skin, you can add heavy cream, sour cream, yogurt or cottage cheese (25 g) or yolk to the fruit puree.

Honey paradise

Honey, a pure, natural gift of nature with its rich composition, which includes almost all substances beneficial to the dermis, is very nourishing for the sensitive epidermis. But it is an allergen. Therefore, be sure to check yourself for predisposition.

A honey soothing face mask after cleansing at home is especially good, as honey has an anti-inflammatory and astringent effect. Honey mixtures can be kept on the epidermis for 10-20 minutes.

  • Dairy

Add milk powder (8 g) and honey (12 g) to warm water. The mixture needs to be mixed until it becomes mushy and immediately applied to the face.

  • Curd

Mix full-fat cottage cheese or pure yogurt (20 g) with honey (18 ml) and vegetable oil (5 drops).

  • Yolk

Let's make a mixture of melted honey (24 g) and any of the essential oils: lavender, rosewood, rose, blue chamomile or jasmine (5 drops).

  • With Aloe

Add honey (6 ml) and yolk to the pulp of the healing plant (22 ml). Be sure to stir the mixture thoroughly.

Fruit mask

Fruits have a rich composition that has a beneficial effect on irritated or inflamed skin. However, it is worth choosing exactly those fruits that are truly suitable for making a soothing cosmetic mixture. The latter can also perfectly moisturize the skin. The following fruits can be used for cosmetics:

  • ripe bananas;
  • any varieties of pears and peaches;
  • plums

This soothing mask is prepared very simply by softening the pulp of the fruit. To enhance the effect, you can add fatty dairy products to the base, for example, cream or sour cream, as well as egg yolk. The fruit mixture is applied to the face; when applying, care must be taken that the mixture does not affect the eye area. Leave the moisturizing mass on the face for 25-30 minutes. Afterwards, rinse it off under warm water and, if necessary, apply a daily care cream to your face.
